an introduction to safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. Safeguarding is the process of protecting a person's health, wellbeing, and human rights, enabling them to live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. It's a collective responsibility, especially for vulnerable individuals like children and adults at risk.

At St Andrew's we take safeguarding very seriously. We are committed, specifically, to

-
Promoting a safer environment and culture.
-
ï‚· Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility related to children, young
-
people and vulnerable adults within the church.
-
ï‚· Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation.
-
ï‚· Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected persons.
-
ï‚· Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons.
-
ï‚· Responding to those that may pose a present risk to others.

If you are concerned that a child or vulnerable adult has been harmed or is at risk of harm, do not hesitate to contact either the Parish Safeguarding Officer (Gill Jones) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer.
